What can MacAid help me clean?

MacAid scans for supported app caches, logs, temporary files, and rebuildable developer caches. Choose a quick or deep scan, review the findings and their evidence, then approve your selection. Cleanup uses Trash by default and records what happened in a recovery receipt.

01

Choose how closely to look.

Quick and deep scan options let you choose the scope of a review. Scans that stop early report that limitation. Finding a file does not automatically make it eligible for cleanup.

02

Care for your creative tools, too.

Supported cleanup rules include Xcode DerivedData, npm/pnpm, and Homebrew caches. Review rebuildable cache candidates without treating source code, projects, or every developer folder as junk. Cleaning them is part of MacAid Pro.

03

A receipt, and a way back.

Recovery records the cleanup and helps restore items that remain in Trash. Restoring is always available, with or without a plan. Moving something to Trash does not free disk space until it is actually removed. Permanent removal cannot be reversed by MacAid.

From insight to a clear choice

A simple place to start.

  1. 1

    Scan locally

Choose your scan and review what MacAid found. Canceling a scan does not clean anything.

  2. 2

    Review the plan

Read the file information and safety evidence. Select eligible items and confirm what you want to move.

  3. 3

    Keep your receipt

Check the outcome in Recovery. Restore items if you change your mind while they are still in Trash.

You decide. Local safety checks set the boundaries.

AI may explain or prioritize findings, but it cannot select files, override cleanup rules, or execute a deletion. Permanent cleanup is a separate, explicit choice for eligible items. Emptying Trash and permanent cleanup cannot be undone. The amount of space reclaimed depends on your files and your choices.

How MacAid handles your data

A little more clarity.

Can I clean my Mac without a subscription?

You can scan, review findings, export results and restore anything MacAid moved without a plan. Moving items to Trash or removing them is part of MacAid Pro. Try it free for 14 days, with no card required, and nothing is charged when the trial ends. After that it is $39.99 per year or $4.99 per month, including any applicable tax. If you used MacAid before the current terms took effect, cleanup stays free for you.

Can MacAid recover permanently deleted files?

No. MacAid’s Recovery feature restores items that still exist in Trash. It is not a disk-recovery tool for files erased from Trash, permanently removed, or lost on a damaged drive.

Can I export my scan results?

Yes. Completed scans can be exported as CSV or JSON for further review. Exports include held-back totals and scan-completeness information so the findings retain their context.
