Terms of service

Last updated 29 September 2026. This is an agreement between you and Apexmart LLC, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States.

Using MacAid

You may install and use MacAid on Macs you own or control. Some of it works without a plan, and some of it is part of MacAid Pro, a paid subscription.

Without a plan, before you sign up and after a trial ends, you can use:

  • Scans and storage analysis (read-only)
  • Viewing and exporting your existing receipts
  • Restoring anything MacAid moved
  • Reveal in Finder and System Settings shortcuts
  • Your account, billing, cancellation and support
  • Security updates

MacAid Pro and its free trial add:

  • Cleanup: move to Trash, or remove permanently as a separate, deliberate step
  • App removal
  • AI-tool and developer-tool storage maintenance, such as uv cache prune
  • Generated project-folder cleanup
  • Opt-in automatic read-only scans, while MacAid or its menu-bar item is running
  • Growth comparisons between scans
  • Optional AI explanations: 10 a day on a plan, 3 a day during the trial
  • Compress: smaller copies of videos and photos, with originals kept or moved to the Trash
  • Stopping processes and listening ports, and switching login items on or off

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or rent the app.
  • Take the app apart to extract its cleanup rules or its service credentials.
  • Use the AI service in a way designed to run up cost, evade the daily limits, or share one account across unrelated people.

What the app does to your files

MacAid moves approved items to the macOS Trash by default. Permanent Cleanup is a separate manual action for an exact selection of verified, regenerable items. It is never automatic and cannot be undone.

You approve every cleanup before it runs, and the app shows you what it proposes to move first. Items it cannot verify are held back rather than removed.

What we do not promise

We cannot promise a specific amount of space, because that depends on what is on your Mac. Any figure the app shows before a cleanup is an estimate of what could be reclaimed, not a guarantee, and the app says so where it shows one.

The software is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Keep backups. Time Machine or any equivalent is the right protection against data loss from any cause, including this app.

Free trial

MacAid Pro comes with one free trial of 14 days per email address. It starts when you verify your email address in the app. No card is required, and nothing is charged when the trial ends: if you want to keep MacAid Pro, you choose a plan yourself. During the trial, AI explanations are limited to 3 a day.

If you buy a plan during the trial, you are charged that day and the trial ends immediately. The remaining trial days are not added to the paid period.

Subscriptions and billing

Plans are $39.99 per year or $4.99 per month, including any applicable tax, each for one Mac. Both renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Stripe charges the card you gave it, and the price shown is the total you pay: any tax due is included in it rather than added at checkout. A plan includes 10 AI explanations a day.

Cancel at any time from Settings inside the app, which opens the Stripe billing page. Cancelling stops the next charge. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for.

If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for 7 days while Stripe retries the card. If the payment still has not gone through after that, the plan ends and the features that need it stop.

If we change a price, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your renewal.

For refunds, see the refund policy.

If you used MacAid before these terms

Until these terms took effect, cleanup in MacAid was free. We are keeping that promise for everyone who already relied on it.

  • If you installed and used MacAid, or verified an account, before these terms took effect, cleanup stays free for you for good: moving to Trash, permanent removal, app removal, AI-tool cleanup and project folders.
  • If you already subscribe, you keep your plan, your price and your number of Macs.
  • Nobody is enrolled in a trial or a plan, or charged, automatically.
  • Older versions of the app keep working as they shipped.

How many Macs

Each paid plan covers one Mac at a time. You can release a Mac from Settings and activate a different one. Going over the limit does not charge you anything, it simply refuses the new activation and tells you why.

AI guidance

AI guidance is advisory. It reorders and explains. It cannot change a safety rating, select an item, or remove anything, and the service enforces this rather than relying on the model to behave.

AI explanations are optional: 10 a day on a plan and 3 a day during the trial. AI never decides what is deleted. If the AI provider is unavailable, the rest of the app keeps working.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to MacAid is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using MacAid and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels your subscription with Stripe first; if that cannot be confirmed, the account is kept and you are asked to try again or write to apexstack.dev@gmail.com. We can suspend an account that is being used to abuse the AI service or to breach these terms, and we will tell you why.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.

Changes

We will update the date above when these terms change, and email account holders when a change is material.
